Virtual Owners’ Day

Thank you very much to all involved with helping make yesterday’s Virtual Owners’ Day a massive success. So much hard work went into it and, from the messages we have received from those kind enough to log in and watch, it was definitely worthwhile.

Neil Lloyd (MD at FBC Manby Bowdler, our Yard Sponsor) was superb in his role as Technical Director and Hayley Moore a fantastic compere. Also huge thanks to our unseen backroom team of Paul Davis, Jon & Jack Hughes, Toby Elford, Belinda and Tilly Jarrett. Tilly’s emotional summary of how she felt it went at our ‘wash up’ Zoom meeting shortly after it finished made it all worthwhile – very proud to be part of such a wonderful team.

Messages afterwards continued to make us burst with pride:

  • Well done Team Keighley – once again you come up trumps! As usual, innovative, well planned, well prepared and well executed, not just today but all though Lockdown.
  • Wow, Team Keighley has done it again!
  • Thank you all so much for organising and I had a wonderfully indulgent couple of hours listening and watching.
  • I am lucky to be connected to the yard as you all put so much effort into ensuring we all feel part of the team

I could go on. Thank YOU all so much. Without the support of our owners we simply couldn’t carry on.

It was bizarre to walk out of the office to an empty yard and paddocks which would normally be heaving with people until into the early evening. No clearing up to do, no final drink with the team – we’ll have a get together with them soon though to thank them for their continued hard work and support. Will be great to get everyone together again although I can see the virtual owners’ day/catch up playing an important part in some way for the future. We thoroughly enjoyed it and were glad to bring our yard into so many homes for a couple of hours.

A quiet week runners wise although we may have a runner at Stratford later in the week.

I’m not expecting peace in our house tonight however as both boys have a friend over for a sleepover….!
