What a great day at Worcester yesterday with Teleleo pleasantly surprising us with a super performance to win on debut in the bumper on Worcester’s opening evening of the season. A good positive ride from Freddie saw them always handy and he switched off well and seemed to take everything in his stride. Still a little green, Freddie pulled him wide turning for home and he then took off and galloped all the way to the line to win by 4 1/2 lengths much to the delight of us all.
Most of his partnership were able to be at Worcester albeit some had endured more eventful journeys than others with the bank holiday traffic already starting and the trains already starting to fail! However, all were there in time and it was fabulous to win with a horse that Bob Russell bred and who we have had since he was a yearling. He went well in the recent racecourse gallop at Kempton but with our bumper horses generally not winning bumpers, as we look at our horses for the long term and they aren’t ‘hammered’ to win a bumper, we knew we liked him but it was no surprise he went off at 22-1. Plenty of the syndicate took 22-1 and some had backed him at bigger!

He’s fresh and well this morning, trotted up sound and he’ll have a long weekend out in the field thinking over what just happened! He’ll run in another bumper probably before going hurdling.
Today we head to Bangor with two runners, both partnered by James Best. Yes Indeed runs for Steven & Helen Sugden and is in good order and will hopefully go very close. Maybellino makes her racecourse debut for Roger Allsop and will hopefully run a solid race and will learn plenty today. Good luck to both.
