Team Keighley LOVE Cheltenham!

Yesterday was another fantastic day at Cheltenham. Our two runners ran super races. Ballymountain Boy ran a blinder to finish 3rd in a hot novice hurdle under Andrew Tinkler, who knows him so well, and delight Paul Davis, Ross Hemming, Mark Holland and George Thornton who make up his owners The Chameleons.

Oscar World had pleased us at home, but after just one run in a point to point where she finished 2nd, she was a little bit of an unknown quantity. We’d not need worry though as, under a good ride from Andrew Tinkler, she settled in mid division, made headway turning in and stayed on all the way up the Cheltenham hill to finish a very good 4th in a decent bumper. We were thrilled with that and all she will do is improve and she can obviously jump too so a bright future ahead.

So a fantastic two days at our favourite and local racecourse and to quote a message our Chairman Jon Hughes sent our team at home “I’ve never seen our owners so happy and so pleased for the yard and the way their horses are being looked after. Great effort everyone and hugely appreciated”. That just about sums it up – we have a brilliant hard working team here, an amazing bunch of owners and are excited to be welcoming new owners into the yard too.

This weekend has been such a buzz, the Cheltenham crowd have been amazing and the well wishers yesterday blew us away. Jump racing is a very special industry to be part of in whatever role you play – there is certainly a huge family feeling and people are as supportive of the huge highs we experience as they are of any untimely lows.

What a track record we have at THE place everyone wants to have winners. That was our 19th winner at Cheltenham and, apart from one other trainer who had a treble, we were the ONLY team to have a DOUBLE! WOW! How fantastic is that?! I’m not sure why our horses love and act around Cheltenham so much but we really don’t mind!

If you want to be part of a Cheltenham winning team then please do get in touch and come and see our ever improving facilities. I know you will love what we have to offer here and our very friendly family orientated yet professional approach. Exciting times ahead and thanks to each and everyone who is making it possible.
