Wow! Spice Girl was impressive yesterday winning her 3rd bumper in a row under a positive ride from Harry Stock delighting us all especially her breeder & part owner Richard Davies and Mark Holland, her other part owner who unfortunately couldn’t be there yesterday. Mark now has the most impressive strike-rate for this season – he’s also an owner in Ballymountain Boy who was our first winner of the season so he is now on 4 out of 4 – fantastic Mark! He was planning to come up this morning ….however maybe celebrations were large last night!
We know Spice Girl can jump as she jumped really well at Jon Trice-Rolph’s last week so I’m not surprised that Richard & Mark are living the dream as that’s what it’s all about and who knows how good she could be?
We had a celebratory supper at The Hollow Bottom last night but plan a much bigger celebration as three wins in a row is pretty special for any bumper horse and especially when it’s a homebred mare!
Apologies for not many blogs this week – Belinda’s been juggling Pony Club Camp duties so not here to assist me much. They’ve had an amazing week though although when Freddie is old enough to stay there life will be much easier as currently they go there and back daily which has been a bit of a logistical nightmare. No Harry this year as he’s had a year out but having been reminded of the fun they have he’s already keen on next year so we’ll see. What better place for any children to have their camp than in the middle of Cheltenham Racecourse – something not lost on our boys and to do dressage next to the jumps Any Currency won over certainly made dressage more appealing that’s for sure!
Work morning here this morning and Warren Marston and Harry Stock in to ride out. We worked a few including Ocean Eleven, Enforcement, Cottersrock, Altesse De Guye, Lord Condi and Viking Mistress.
No runners today but Buckle Street runs at Uttoxeter tomorrow. He improved for the step up in trip last time so hoping for another solid run over the same trip.
