Southwell bound

We have an exciting day ahead of us with three lovely horses heading for Southwell this evening. Debden Bank kicks off proceedings in the opening race under Ben Godfrey, who takes a valuable 5lbs off his huge weight, and he has won his last two races and seems in good form. He’s pleasing me at home and I think he’s the type to continue improving and will hopefully go close again tonight.

Our next runner is Dreamsundermyfeet who is making his chasing debut and looks every inch a chaser – he’s a big imposing sort who has just taken time to come to hand and his patient owners have been richly rewarded with two impressive recent wins. I’m aware he’s running again quickly, which would be a bit of a concern, but he looks to have come out of his second win well and if he takes to chasing then I’m hopeful of a big run. James Best rides and is awaiting a call from his wife as she is due to have their second baby any day now! Hopefully after Dreamer has run!

Finally, Pinnacle Peak runs in the second last race and he was so very impressive at Worcester last time winning without breaking sweat under Sean Bowen who is in the saddle again today. Like Dreamsundermyfeet, he’s won twice pretty close together and goes for the hat-trick, as they all do, but if the Handicapper has got his rating correct today, where he’s gone up 15lbs for that last win, he should be 8lbs ‘well in’ today.

So an exciting evening in prospect and we’ve had James Best and Rex Dingle in this morning schooling and we schooled Kazontherazz, Be Thankful, Cloud Formation, Cut And Run and Miss Antipova and they all schooled well.

Good luck Team.
