Shinji wins at Southwell

A fabulous day at Southwell yesterday with Shinji winning for his new syndicate of owners made up of current owners Matt Capp & Leigh Powell who have been with us for many years and also for new owners Paul Newman and Michael Day who were enjoying their first runner for us. What a start too with Shinji, who had been dropped 3lbs by the Handicapper since his last run, settled well out in front and built on that run to gain his first hurdling win. Well done also to Sian who looks after him and rides him out every day as he’s not the easiest at home and she does a great job with him.

The other two horses ran belters too – Amberelli stayed on to finish 4th on her second run over hurdles. As she’s not run in bumpers she lacks racing experience and unsurprisingly found the ridiculous gallop they went knocked her out of her comfort zone. Sean gave her a lovely ride and she kept galloping & stayed on up the straight showing a super attitude to hit the line hard and delight her enthusiastic owners.

Release The Kraken also ran another consistent race for Helen Sugden and Sean is convinced he’ll be in the winners enclosure too soon. A really good day and great to see the horses in such good form.

NO runners today but we head to Worcester tomorrow where Blazing Court runs in the first race.
