Found On won in good style on Saturday at Uttoxeter under a super ride from Sean Bowen, his 3rd of the day and putting him on top of the table on day one of the season! Thrilled for owners Ollie & Irene Ryan especially as Found On was spot on when she was kicked at the start at Cheltenham and subsequently stopped from running so it was fitting that she followed up with a good win and great that she got us off the mark with our first runners of the season. She’s now won her last two chases in great style and is growing in confidence.
Back On The Lash has had a busy season and jumped for fun but ultimately ran a bit flat and he’ll now have a well deserved holiday. Herecomeshogan seems to be well in the grips of the handicapper and both Carumba and Culverwell were always going to struggle so far out of the handicap but needed a run. I’ll discuss with Katie Frisby who runs The Stars & Stripes Racing Club as to where we go next with those two.
Thank you all so much for your kind messages about the devastating loss of Brorson. It really helps and once again underlines how much of a close knit community racing is and how kind people are in times like these. What an emotional roller coaster it was losing him on the Friday and then winning with Found On on Saturday.
Lovely to see Pete and Sue Wilson today who called in to see Debden Bank and also to kindly deliver photo books for Freddie of his Point to Point pony races recently at Andoversford. He’s a fabulous photographer & we’ll treasure the books.
A really busy week ahead with Fakenham tomorrow, Kelso on Wednesday, Worcester Thursday, Market Rasen Friday and Warwick on Saturday. Let’s hope we keep the ball rolling – it would be fantastic to add to our tally.
