New Year’s Eve

Our final runner of the year today at Warwick having amazingly passed their 9am inspection. You’d not have raced here today – it’s bitterly cold so once again huge thanks to my Team who carry on regardless of the weather and ensure our horses are looked after fantastically.

Solstice Star heads for a Veteran’s Chase on the eve of his 11th Birthday (as all racehorses have their birthdays tomorrow) for Foxtrot Racing in the hands of Lilly Pinchin who won on him over hurdles back in Uttoxeter. They get on well and he seems in very good form. He’s not be on the course for a couple of months as he was struck into badly at Cheltenham in October and it is testament to their veterinary team and my team here that his leg has healed so well as it was nasty. I worry a bit about the track as it’s quite sharp and the fences come fast and furious down the back but a top 8 finish would see him qualify for the Veteran’s Final later in the season albeit we hope to be far nearer than 7th or 8th! Good luck to Team Solstice!

The strangest of years and I’ll look back at some of our highlights of 2020 (yes there were a few despite the tough times) and we look ahead to 2021 with hope that we’ll get back to something like normal as soon as we all possibly can.

A bit of a road ahead before then I know but may I thank you all for your unwavering support – we really could not have got through these tough times without support from you all – and may I wish you all a Happy New Year from me, my family and the whole team here and let’s hope 2021 brings us good health and happiness.
