Martin’s Blog 23rd January

We’d planned to go to Cocklebarrow Point to Point in Aldsworth near Cirencester yesterday and meet up with owners and friends there but it was inevitably frozen off after a very cold evening.  It’s now rescheduled for this coming Sunday so we’ll be back then!

Instead Freddie and I went to Cheltenham and had a good walk around their Cross-Country course and, fair play to all the team there, it’s in good order and I agreed with Simon Claisse  (as the forecast was mild last night) to go schooling there today.

So today we took Any Currency (Aidan Coleman), Champion Court (Jamie) and Johnny Og (Andrew Tinkler) and on perfect ground they schooled well and all thoroughly enjoyed it – jockeys and horses!

A film crew here late morning doing a recce ahead of filming later in the week but no owners in this morning.  We very much miss Patrick Spittle, who would call in at least 3 times a week, however we are pleased to hear that he is improving steadily, while still in hospital and as soon as we are 100% over the cold that has been going around, we’ll go and visit him.  A real favourite among the team here and plenty of our owners too so we hope he is back visiting us regularly soon.
