Martin’s Blog 9th September

The Heythrop Hunt met at Banks Fee, the field next to our gallops, at 6.30am this morning so Freddie & Harry joined them on their ponies and had an hour following before hacking back to watch 1st lot work here. A beautiful morning… the calm before the storm as some pretty torrential rain is on it’s way.

Andrew Tinkler, Warren Marston and Mark Caswell all in to ride out and we worked plenty as we continue to up the work load of those that will be due to run at the end of this month and into October. Exiting times. Tilly Jarrett was in first and second lot and Andrea Williams and Rocky too, more Racing Club members, were in to watch Viking Mistress and The Kvilleken. John and Claire Abernethy were in to watch Whatalove and a filly by Getaway and Freddie was keen to tell John how amazing the lamb that we had from him was! Absolutely delicious.

No runners today but plenty of buzz around the area as the Tour de Britain comes through – the boys are off to Jackdaws Castle to try and watch it their with their school friends Richard & Patrick Upton.
