An early first lot with Sean Bowen, Adam Wedge and James Best all in to ride out and we schooled Shinji(Sean), Redbridge Rambler (Freddie), Kauto Castillo (Harry Atkins), Spice Boy (Adam), Found On (Sean), Dreamsundermyfeet (Adam), Witness Protection (James) and Brianna Rose (Sean). All the rest cantered.
We then headed to Cheltenham Racecourse where Debden Bank (James) and Back On The Lash (Sean) schooled over the cross country fences – a warm up for Lash and a first time for Debden Bank as a possible option for him.
On to Ludlow where Ten Past Midnight runs in the NFU Mutual Novices’ Handicap Chase under James Best. He didn’t enjoy his chasing debut last season, which was a huge surprise as he’d jumped so well at home but after plenty more schooling we are keen to try him over them again.
Enforcement found the ground at Warwick hard work and, although he jumped well for a long way under Harry Atkins, he faded and Harry looked after him. He needs better ground if we run him back over 3 miles again although could get away with that ground over a shorter trip.
