Martin’s Blog 9th January

Two runners today at different ends of the country. Young Phoenix heads to Doncaster under Paddy Brennan and will hopefully be thereabouts again today after a good 2nd place last time out.

At Taunton we run Raving Bonkers for the What in Heavens Partnership, many of who are able to be there today. My Assistant, Foxy, is in charge at Taunton. It’s a competitive race and he is one of the outsiders but he is a horse for the future and will hopefully run well today and continue his education. We schooled him yesterday so that it is fresh in his mind so we would be thrilled with a good round of jumping and a solid run.

David Bishop called in this morning to watch his Cheltenham winner Bobble Emerald on the gallops. He’s had a year off but is nearing a run and is a very popular horse here having been in the yard for four years. He provided Harry Stock with his first Cheltenham winner too so he’s a horse he’ll never forget. David and his wife Janne are loyal supporters of the yard (Janne is in our Racing Club too) and they live locally at Great Rissington.

If you would like to have a horse trained by Martin Keighley, visit the yard or make an enquiry
