Bitterly cold this morning and the horses just doing one or two canters as a lot worked yesterday. The new horses that have arrived this week are settling in well. Two of them are striking greys – firstly Roger and Yvonne Allsop’s grey Roslin filly who arrived from Claire Hart’s has settled in well and so has John Broadhurst’s good looking grey Fair Mix gelding. Exciting to see how they develop over the next few weeks and to welcoming both sets of owners up to see them soon.
Yesterday Michelle Folley’s Brass Monkey arrived in the yard looking well and was full of himself out on the gallops this morning and is a nice looking horse.
Both Michelle Folley and John Broadhurst are new owners to the yard and we are delighted to welcome them to the team and hope to see them up here as much as they are able and meet some of the other owners too. Something I think is so special here is that owners meet eachother and become a great team and enjoy eachother’s success nearly as much as their own.
Today at Huntingdon Leriche Belle makes her racecourse debut. Her owners, The Transporters, are also new to the yard and she joined us just before Christmas and is a nice type. She’s been a little bit buzzy at home thus the hood is fitted to try and switch her off and if she settles nicely they we hope she’ll run well. It’s a competitive bumper and looks the hotter division but we have to start somewhere and she should give a decent account of herself.
