Martin’s Blog 8th March

Ross Hemming and his Leisure Ride Team have been working hard this week on our new drive and, thanks to Mike Hughes and Paul Keyte from Oathill Quarry (and also keen members of our Martin Keighley Racing Club) the yard entrance looks unrecognisable and is something we are now very proud of.

Ross is back here today and so is local Plumber (and a past owner with us) Stewart Darvill working on the new Owner’s Cloakroom facilities. We really appreciate Stewart fitting this work in as he’s very busy but knew we were keen to have the work completed by this weekend. Our next step is to entice him back into ownership!!

Our physio Maggie Turner was here 1st lot overseeing the horses working and in particular her Sister Sarah’s homebred filly Ask Alice who hopefully makes her racecourse debut on Monday at Stratford. Lizzie Kelly will ride and she was in this morning to work her.

Lizzie worked another youngster of ours, Young Phoenix, and he worked well and pleased her. Andrew Tinkler and Warren Marston were here too and we worked Any Currency, Cottersrock, Ballymountain Boy, Sporty Yankee, Brillare Momento, City Never Sleeps, Cup of Ambition, Forecast, Bobble Emerald, Solstice Star, Fair Mix Gelding, Robin Des Pres Gelding, Dalton Glance and Brass Monkey.
