Martin’s Blog 7th September

All change today as the boys head back to school after a busy and fun-packed summer holiday and whilst they have loved being at home, I know they are keen to see their friends again despite school not being their favourite past-time! Total peace in the office for Belinda today too with me heading to Uttoxeter!

I’m at Uttoxeter with The Serendipity Syndicates’ Ten Past Midnight and Michael Chitty, who runs the syndicate, is there to support him too. He seems in good form so will hopefully be in the mix. Patrick Cowley, who has got on with him so well in the past, rides.

Good luck today Team!

Yesterday we had Sean Bowen, Patrick Cowley, Harry Stock and Warren Marston in to ride out and we worked Back On The Lash, Spanish Present, Debden Bank, Bella Ciao, Kazontherazz, Found On, Big Nasty & Genovese. They all worked well and all the rest cantered as they step up their work.

Kalibrate was a bit disappointing in his bumper at Newton Abbot but he’s a big rangy horse and shows us so much at home. He looked an absolute picture in the paddock. I think he’s going to be the type that needs plenty of time similar to Ten Past Midnight, Mozzaro and Dreamsundermyfeet who all needed time and then have quickly won multiple races as soon as the penny dropped.

Freddie was lucky enough to ride out for Dan Skelton yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed himself riding 4 lots out. Whilst he’s handy helping out here, it does him no harm to get away from his parents and he hopes to go back in regularly.
