Martin’s Blog 7th November

Pretty damp and wet here today but full marks to my team who show up as cheerfully as usual and simply get on with the job in hand. You are only as good as your team so thank goodness ours is fantastic.

Work morning and therefore Andrew Tinkler and Conor Shoemark both in and Charlie Dee was also in to discuss potential Cross Country horses as we are very keen to replace Any Currency and can’t believe we are currently heading into a Cheltenham Cross Country season without a Keighley representative!

We worked on the grass with Spice Girl, My Lad Percy, Somewhere To Be, Chequered View, Pomme De Nuit, Dr Dunraven, Mister Valentine, Madame Fiona, Lerichi Belle, Sporty Yankee, Lady Vitesse and Cut and Run. All the rest either did swinging canters or just cantered.

Whatalove, Cup of Ambition and Young Phoenix all schooled and I was pleased with how they jumped.

Miss Condi runs this evening at Kempton Park on the All Weather. It’s her first time in a handicap so hopefully she’ll find life a little easier now she has a handicap mark. She’s a real tryer and will eventually go hurdling but she’s only two so will be good to have some fun on the flat with her first and she has a lovely attitude. Joey Haynes rides.
