A stunning morning and good to have Michael Andrews, Cheltenham Racecourse & The Jockey Club’s social media guru, in to take plenty of footage of the team, especially Back On The Lash who they are following throughout the season. He was in a fortnight ago and his footage of me filming the horses working whilst also driving the buggy apparently received more than 20,000 hits but also a few comments from those not realising I was driving in a field on private property!!
Michael was brave enough to get in with me again this morning and watched Springs A Girl, Back On The Lash, Found On, Kalibrate, Zestful, Brianna Rose, Kazontherazz, Dreamsundermyfeet, Ben Buie, Wide To West and Witness Protection all work 1st lot. We had quite a few 2nd lot too as we ramp up the work for many of our winter runners.
An early new arrival this morning with Oneforthefairgreen arriving just after 5am from Ireland. She’s a lovely type and was last seen out finishing 2nd to Springs A Girl who arrived a few weeks ago and is pleasing us. She has been purchased by Stephen & Helen Sugden and they were fortunately able to be in fourth lot to see her have a leg stretch on our loop gallop – a bunch of excited youngsters led by Helen’s very calm & sensible Release The Kraken!
Warwick later today with Enforcement for our Racing Club under Harry Atkins claiming his valuable 10lbs. Enforcement found it all happened too quickly for him at Ffos Las last time out but jumped for fun. Today’s 3m 1 1/2f trip will be much more suitable and, although it’s a competitive race, I think he could go well.
