Martin’s Blog 7th March

Snow?! We awoke to snow this morning but thankfully just a covering and, after a snowy looking 1st lot, it was gone by the time the horses were turned out in their paddocks late morning.

Work morning and James Best and Warren Marston both in and we worked Shinji, Another Day Out, Genovese, Zestful, Pinnacle Peak, Ballyvango, Enforcement, Breizh Alko, Witness Protection, Debden Bank, Samtara, Ambassador, Myfanwy’s Magic, Herecomeshogan, Black Sam Bellamy Mare, Forecast, Miss Antipova, Bella Ciao, Just A Deal, Spice Boy, Lantic Bay, Kazontherazz, Peso In My Pocket, Bobbi’s Beauty and She Has Notions. All the rest cantered and Found On & Back on the Lash went on a hack.

It’s 7 days to go until the best week of the year and Cotswold Forage, who supply us with our bedding and forage, shared this with us…..

7 more sleeps…

Last night we went to the only Preview Evening we attend – by kind invitation of Lord & Lady Bamford at The Fox at Oddington where the compere for the night was, as always, Charlie Brooks. We haven’t visited The Fox since they’ve revamped it and what a job they have done. Last night the food was superb and the company fantastic. We even had some of Team Constitutional Hill there – Michael Buckley and Nico De Boinville plus a handful of my neighbouring Trainers – Jonjo, Charlie Longsdon, Ben Pauling & Grahame McPherson and a good time was had by all – all of us only asked for 2 tips so mostly eating & drinking and not much talking – perfect!
