Ten Past Midnight is our 7th winner of the season winning well at Southwell under a super ride from Sean Bowen for The Serendipity Syndicate led by Michael Chitty who also bred him.
A fabulous result and thrilled that he bounced back after a couple of disappointing runs – the drop back in trip obviously helped as did the application of blinkers for the first time which definitely sharpened him up. He jumped for fun and went clear approaching the last and galloped strongly to the line. Well done to Deb who rides him out and Paddy who looks after him.
Brianna Rose ran a blinder to finish a close 2nd, stepping up in trip to 3 miles and I’m sure she’ll be winning soon for her owner Matthew Baker. Such a tough mare with a lovely attitude. Ben Buie prefers quicker ground but despite missing the 4th last, he finished a respectable 3rd which was a much improved effort from last time and we’ll hopefully find a race on quicker ground where he can dominate again and get him back in the winners’ enclosure. Cut And Run frustrated once again and won’t have many more chances.
Thrilled to be on 7 winners at this stage of the season as Southwell continues to be our lucky track. It was pointed out yesterday that last season at Southwell we had 14 winners from 42 runners – a 33% strike rate with 10 horses placed too! A winner, 2nd and a 3rd from four runners yesterday was pleasing too. Well done team.
