We were pleased with Chequered View’s 3rd place yesterday at Ludlow. She needs a bit of cut in the ground it had dried up and wasn’t as soft as I’d hoped but still a solid run and Harry Stock was sympathetic with her once beaten. She has eaten up and is sound and bright this morning.
Nothing has been turned out today as the weather this morning was awful – strong winds and rain and my team, as usual, carried on through it. The rain eased off after 2nd lot but it will be pretty windy all day I feel.
James Gibbs and Richard East in this morning to see Solstice Star and to brave the elements. I did message them to warn them but they weren’t deterred – hard core!
Leicester today with Sporty Yankee and Cup of Ambition. Both haven’t had things go their way this season but seem well at home so I’m hopeful of improved performances. They’ve been disappointing compared to what they have shown at home but hopefully the reasons for that have been ironed out and we’ll see better runs today as both are owned by supportive groups of owners. Harry Stock rides them both.
