Ben Buie was in the process of running a huge race yesterday at Worcester, jumping for fun and travelling well, and turning for home we did think he was going to nearly win but he does often need his first run of the season and he got tired and eventually finished 5th. Still a solid performance and he’ll come on lots from that.
It was a great atmosphere at Worcester and we are so pleased that our Yard Sponsor, FBC Manby Bowdler, are sponsoring there this season and yesterday their race was shown live on ITV. Super to catch up with MD Neil Lloyd and their guests, a fun afternoon.
Today it’s off to Market Rasen with the veteran Mr Mafia. He holds the course record at the track but needs to put a disappointing display behind him to be in the shake up today. He’s re-united with Sean Bowen, who gets on so well with him and, whilst he may well be still in the grips of the Handicapper, he’s in good form at home and should give a bold show as he usually does.
Mafia’s owner Peter Boggis is taking his mind off Badminton Horse Trials today as daughter Kitty was in top form yesterday with a stunning dressage test leaving her in 2nd place overnight ahead of today’s 2nd day of dressage. Kitty deserves to have a fabulous weekend as both her, her mother Jane and their whole team work so hard so we send them all our best wishes for a brilliant weekend.
