Martin’s Blog 6th January

After lots of visitors in the week, this morning was a quiet one. We worked the horses yesterday so they all just cantered today. Max Comley was in to ride out as usual on a Saturday morning.

Two runners at two different meetings. Brillare Momento heads to Sandown Park in the final race, a 2 mile Hurdle as opposed to the 2m 4f Listed Hurdle which opens the card. The heavy ground won’t be ideal which is why we’ve chosen the shorter distance. She’s in great form and will hopefully run well in what is a competitive race. Noel Fehily partners her for the first time with Aidan Coleman at Chepstow.

Cul De Poule heads for Chepstow where Andrew Tinkler partners him in the bumper. He was very backward when he made his debut at Worcester in the summer but still stayed on well to finish 5th. He’ll have come on a lot from that and whilst it’s a hot enough bumper, we are hoping he’ll run well and it won’t be long until he goes over hurdles.

No runners tomorrow so a day catching up with owners and running plans for the weeks ahead.

We’ll be remembering my mother in law, Kathy Malcom, today who we lost 8 years ago. Such a shame both her and my father in law aren’t around to enjoy everything we are doing here and the boys too…
