It doesn’t feel like summer yet but the cool weather is perfect for the horses on their summer holidays as they aren’t being attacked by the flies. We could still do with more rain though….
Champion Jockey Richard Johnson in today and he schooled Capital Force, Forecast, Chequered View and Cotswold Prince and Harry Stock schooled Gold Mountain, Primogeniture, Bobble Emerald and Raving Bonkers. All jumped really well and it was fantastic to have Richard in this morning en route to Fontwell. Amazing the miles and hours on the road these jockeys do – 1 1/2 hours to here and a further 2 1/2 on to Fontwell. Hope my youngest Harry is correct as he told Richard he’s expecting him to have 6 winners! Big fans and hard to get them on to school this morning.
Liz Juckes from the British Racing School here too observing some of the team who are still under their apprentice scheme. So lucky to have such great backing in racing and fortunate to have people and helpful and knowledgeable as Liz to help these youngsters.
