Ocean Eleven followed up his very unfortunate slip up at Stratford recently with a solid 4th back at Stratford on Thursday. He was interfered with up the straight which cost him 3rd place but I was really pleased how he galloped to the line as it proves he does stay the trip. He was only beaten 3 1/2 lengths and although he hasn’t yet transferred his very good flat form to hurdling, he is definitely going in the right direction.
Yesterday we worked Bobble Emerald, Lord Condi, Sporty Yankee, Enforcement, The Kvilleken and Miss Condi. Warren Marston was in to ride out. We have plenty doing steady canters and quite a few still doing walk and trot work as they build up their fitness after returning from their holidays.
Our Travelling Head Girl Issy Mangan also events her lovely grey horse Vinnie in any spare time that she gets and she heads to Gatcombe Horse Trials today for the Corinthium Cup. She’s worked very hard for this and we wish her lots of luck over the weekend.
