Martin’s Blog 4th June

Jubilee weekend and we are heading to Worcester races with four runners where our sponsors, FBC Manby Bowdler sponsor the card. Our first runner is Dreamsundermyfeet (Rex Dingle) in the FBC Manby Bowdler Handicap Chase over 2m 4f. He’s in good order and if he puts in a consistent round of jumping he should go close.

In the #BePartOfIt Open NH Flat Race Western Safire runs for the Williamson/Cowley family and she’s partnered by Patrick Cowley. She’s a nice mare and will hopefully build on her Southwell debut last month.

Forecast runs for our Racing Club in the Anyone Here From Bromsgrove Handicap Hurdle under Sean Bowen. He ran a blinder last time out, his first run back with us since we bought him from the Sales and almost paid for himself in that one run. His bloods haven’t been quite right on and off since so he may once again need the run a little but he will hopefully put up a bold show for our fabulous Racing Club members.

Finally Matthew Baker’s mare Brianna Rose runs in the concluding race stepping up to 3 miles over hurdles. She is a super mare and should appreciate this step up in trip and I think she’ll go very close.

It’s been a quiet week for runners but busy with the boys home for Half Term and they’ve had a great week including Freddie taking a trip to Newmarket British Racing School with his pony, Miss Millfield, to qualify for the Racecourse Series of the Pony Racing this summer. They had a very educational day and learnt a lot and are all systems go now so we can’t wait to see them in action over the summer.

Yesterday we went to watch the new Tom Cruise Top Gun movie and it was fantastic – highly recommended!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and hope the weather starts to behave a bit better!
