Pitch black when the horses pulled out for first lot at just gone 7.30am but amazingly it suddenly gets light and by the time they’d warmed up and done one canter we could see who they were.

David Bishop in 1st lot to watch Eclat Des Mottes and both Paul Davis and Jon Hughes in too. Mark Caswell, Mike Stephens and Harry Atkins all in to ride out and we worked Capricia, Lucky Circle, Mozzaro, Run A Rig, Dreamsundermyfeet, Cotswold Prince, City Never Sleeps, Be Thankful, Eclat Des Mottes and Brillare Momento. The rest either did a swinging canter or just a canter.

Second lot Roger & Judy Formby, Jackie Hands and Sue Franklin in following a Lunch we talked at in Stow on the Wold. They all seemed to thoroughly enjoy their visit and Jackie especially was surprised to see how much the yard has moved on and improved since she had a share in a Point to Pointer here over 11 years ago. Great to see them all and entertain them with food and hot drinks in our Owners’ Room.

Yesterday Miss Antipova found the bottomless ground unsuitable at Hereford and indeed the final hurdle race was abandoned. She jumped well but we’ll wait for better ground for her.
