No runners this weekend but a busy Saturday morning where the connections of many of our Team showed that they are just as hardcore as our team themselves. We’d planned ‘Friends & Family’ morning weeks ago and, although we reassured the team that we’d definitely have another one in the next month or so, their families had planned to come and that is what they did!
Saturday was a stunning morning thankfully without the driving snow that the Team endured during riding out on Friday. The sun was out but it was still bitterly cold but the connections of our team, many who’d not been here before, warmed themselves up in the Owners’ Room in between lots with the help of plenty of tea & coffee and hot sausage rolls. They also had the luxury of watching the horses canter on the loop from the warmth of the Owners’ Room but most chose to brave the weather. A fun morning and something we love to put on and it seems to be appreciated by all.
More sledging for the team and my boys on Saturday afternoon and we were spoilt for choice with sport on the tv all weekend with racing, rugby and football.
Back to normal today, school back open and at plus 8 degrees a balmy 16 degrees warmer than at times on Saturday and Sunday. Rain too today and promises of rain much of the week. Maggie Turner in today assisted by Jemima Turner who comes to us regularly from Hartpury College.
Entries towards the end of the week but most of the team having a quiet time ready for a busier end to the season. All seem fresh and seem to enjoy being ridden out in the snow. A huge thanks to my team and thankful it is warmer for them this week. If the rain could hold off until they’ve finished riding out they’d appreciate it!
