A busy few days with runners starting with Fakenham today where Debden Bank runs in the Snellings Norfolk National Handicap Chase under Sam Twiston-Davies who is deputising for the sadly injured James Best. He’s in great form and if he stays the extra trip as well as his brother Buckle Street did, then I think he will have a really good each way chance. It’s obviously a competitive race but it’s for a decent prize and I think Debden deserves a crack at it. He’s come out of his last race, where he won well, in great form and Ernie, who adores him, has not gone away on holiday yet so that she can go with him today (& she rode him out yesterday too!). He’s not the easiest in his stable and is so lucky to have Ernie looking after him.
I then head off up to Kelso Racecourse as Big Nasty, Blazing Court and Spanish Present all headed off their this morning to run tomorrow. They’ve watered the ground but we do need the forecast rain to arrive too so we are taking a risk driving up there hoping for rain so everything crossed.
