A busy Saturday morning here with about 25 members of our Martin Keighley Racing Club visiting to see their horses Cup of Ambition, Passing Glance filly and Ask Alice. They were treated to cakes thanks to fellow member Janne Bishop and hot sausage rolls which warmed us all up – we are so lucky to have such a wonderful Owners’ room as visitors can watch the horses warm up and cool down around our circular loop out of the large windows in the comfort of this room if they choose – it’s much warmer than the viewing mound outside!
We also welcomed new owner Zofia Trembecka-Ross and her family to the yard to see their horse Sugar Storm who has recently joined us. She’s a lovely looking mare with a super attitude and we look forward to getting her to the track soon. Anna Yorke brought her family too to see Pomme De Nuit and Chris Dee, who also has a share in Pomme, was here to also watch her horse Pirate Look on the gallops. Matthew Baker was here to see the Racing Club horses, Buckle Street and Cotswold Prince who Jan and Keith Salisbury were also here to watch along with the Club horses. James Richardson, who bred a four year old Passing Glance filly that he has kindly leased to the Racing Club, was here to watch her progress and have a catch up with us too.
Belinda and I had a very entertaining lunch at The Old Butchers in Stow on the Wold yesterday to celebrate Somewhere To Be’s recent win and the food was as delicious as ever.
No runners today but always plenty of planning to do and some great racing to watch on tv!
