Martin’s Blog 3rd April

A busy morning yesterday with over 50 owners in on a glorious, crisp but sunny morning. David Maughan, Mike & Mella Wright, Matthew Baker, Lindsey Morgan, Tilly Jarrett and over 40 members of The Cotswold Lockdowners also here to see Herecomeshogan and enjoy fizz and refreshments.

Huge group of owners in yesterday morning

Warren Marston, Patrick Cowley and Harry Stock were all in to ride out. We worked Mr Mafia, Blazing Court, Brianna Rose, Finescope, Western Safire, Bella Ciao, Debden Bank, Ten Past Midnight, Mozzaro, Sojourn, Dreamsundermyfeet, Ben Buie, Kazontherazz, Pay The Woman, Duke of Luckley, Herecomeshogan, Capricia and Love of Neymore.

No runners this weekend with the ground too dry for our intended runners at both Newbury and Chepstow but Freddie is racing today at Andoversford on his friend Richard Cook’s racing pony, Annie Get Ur Gun. It’s been 5 years since Freddie rode in his first (and his last!) point to point pony race on dear old Arthur, his welsh grey pony who finished a few distances in last but won the turnout! Since then he’s been busy racing his home made shetland but the opportunity hasn’t arisen to pony race again until now and he can’t wait. No doubt his mother will remind him again that she rode a double there in her point to pointing days – one for me and one for Martin Jones who does all of our backing of young horses! He’s only ridden Annie a handful of times but he’s very excited and we’ve told him to go out and enjoy it and anything else is a bonus.

Anyone who was hoping to head to Aintree this coming weekend but couldn’t get tickets – David Parry, an owner here, has tickets available with seats all three days and now can’t go. Please contact me 07767472547 and I will pass on his details to you.
