Martin’s Blog 31st May

What a busy day! The summer months are meant to be quieter but with the support of existing and new owners sending us new horses and a big action plan to upgrade the facilities further, this summer is going to be as busy as the winter!

The horses are looking well and we still have plenty in work. David Bishop called in late morning to deliver wife Janne’s delicious cakes ahead of tomorrow’s Meet The Trainer morning. Do call along from 9 – 10.30am if you wish to come and see us – old and new friends welcome! Just drop me an email or a text.

Jo Stainer and Sue Mulraine also called in for a catch up too and Jules Harman as well, always great when people call in for a catch up.

Carole, our Bookkeeper, has been here all day and we had a meeting with our local Agricultural Manager from Barclays Bank. Lots to discuss and plenty of plans for the future too and a pretty long but definitely productive meeting with her. Freddie was booked into a Pony Club rally to try Polo for the first time but unfortunately Belinda couldn’t be in two places at once and as the days meetings over ran and with too much to do they had to cancel. He’ll have other chances I’m sure and both him and Harry seem to manage to amuse themselves pretty well during the holidays when we are particularly busy especially now they enjoy doing helpful jobs like strimming – there is always lots to do!

Plenty of mowing to do on the grass gallops and around the yard – the rain we’ve had recently followed by fantastic sunny days has certainly made the grass fly up and the whole place looks very green!
