Yes we are still buzzing after our fantastic results at Cheltenham over the weekend. Everyone has definitely got more of a spring in their step today and Pete Wilson, who is part of our Racing Club, kindly came out to take a photo of the whole team with our Cheltenham double – Brillare Momento and Bobble Emerald. The sun even shone for us too!
Monday’s here are usually pretty hectic and this morning was no different! Farrier Nick Partridge and Vet Jeremy Swan both here to ensure our residents are kept on top form and any small problem is hopefully sorted before it gets more serious. It isn’t easy keeping horses free from injury and on top form but we are so lucky to have such a hard working team here backed up by a great team of professionals and we all work so well together.
Owner Richard East in for a catch up too which was well timed as he had some questions for Jeremy Swan and Jeremy is always happy to talk through things with our owners to make sure we are all hopefully singing from the same hymn sheet. It’s often easier for Jeremy to speak directly to an owner too so a worthwhile chance meeting.
Second lot today we took four horses jumping at Jon Trice-Rolph’s Todenham base near Moreton in Marsh. It’s good to get the youngsters away from the yard and they learn so much in his outdoor school and also in the field over logs and tyres. We took Madame Fiona, Spice Boy, Twentyoneblackjack and Chequered View and they jumped well and Harry, Ash, Alfie and Andrew always feel they benefit from the extra tuition too.
No runners today so a chance to catch up on admin after a whirlwind weekend. All our runners seem fresh and well after their performances and are all enjoying a day in the sunshine in their paddocks.
Yesterday Charlie Dee, who gained experience here as pupil assistant a few years ago and is now working as an Assistant for the Lillingston Bloodstock Team, was here going through the horses that had caught his eye at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sales. He headed off there yesterday and is keeping me in touch so if you are interested in getting involved in either a share or a horse of your own then I have plenty of details of horses we have discussed and Charlie is looking at them as we speak.
Happy Birthday to my Assistant Jamie Goldstein who celebrates his birthday today.
