An early start as we decided to send Enforcement up to Hexham just before 5am this morning to miss Friday’s traffic so I was up before 4am to feed him. Companion pony Arthur went too and with Mick and jockey Harry Stock sharing the driving they have arrived at Hexham safely and with an uncomplicated journey. Enforcement makes his debut over hurdles in the first juvenile hurdle of the season and owners Jon & Jack Hughes have gone to cheer him on – good luck to them all.
Meanwhile I’m at Worcester with Dr Dunraven who makes his debut for our Racing Club, kindly leased to us by his owners for the season. Sadly one of his owners, Judy Pimblett, passed away on Monday following a courageous battle with cancer so thoughts with all of her family and let’s hope Dr D can do her proud today. She also owned shares in Pomme De Nuit and a new youngster Ben Buie and we are so very sad she’ll not get to see him run. Dr Dunraven is partnered by Andrew Tinkler and if he improves on his last run dropping back in trip, he should go close.
Horses just cantered this morning but always great to see Mark Allen and also Zofia Trembecka-Ross who were were in to watch their horses and catch up with us too.
