Work morning for some of the horses and Warren Marston in to ride work. We worked Back On The Lash, Sarasota Star, Dreamsundermyfeet, Ten Past Midnight, Samtara and Enforcement. The rest either went for a hack and a canter or cantered on the loop sand surface back at the yard. A lovely day so all the horses out in the fields in the sunshine. Maybe the last day of the summer?
Bangor with just one runner now as Reve frustratingly has a bruised foot. We run Solstice Star who is partnered by Richard Johnson who has struck up such a good relationship with him. He’s a special horse to the team having won 9 races for us since joining us and giving us so much fun including two Cheltenham wins during a rich vein of form that saw him win 5 races on the bounce. During Lockdown 12 year old Freddie rode him and it was Solstice who Freddie was brave enough to ride up our long gallop for the first time. Solstice looked after Freddie so well whilst he was getting race fit and made Freddie so much more confident and was a huge part of his memories of Lockdown I’m sure.
Solstice’s last run was a winning run just before Lockdown when he won at Uttoxeter on ITV Racing with Lilly Pinchin on board. We are hoping for a solid return to the track for him and Foxtrot Racing along with Richard East & James Gibbs.
