Martin’s Blog 29th June

Runners at two meetings yesterday. Buckle Street ran at Salisbury under claimer Richard Oliver. He’s not been great out of the stalls in the past on the flat so we thought a flag start would be ideal as he broke very well in his charity race at York recently. Unfortunately he completely missed the break and jumped off detached last instead of 2nd or 3rd and was always then playing catch up. The ground would have been a little on the soft side for him too but we were disappointed with his 6th place.

At Worcester Cottersrock was having his first run for a long time and was a bit rusty and will improve a lot for the run. The race wasn’t run to suit Sporty Yankee with a slow early pace making him too keen early on and he will improve for a step up in trip.

James Nixon in this morning and the horses all mainly doing just a couple of canters. Jon Hughes was in and Jonathan Clyde made his first visit to the yard and we are delighted to welcome him on board as a new owner.
