Martin’s Blog 29th June

I thought Windy Cove was going to give us a flat winner last night at Chepstow…she was so close and looked home and hosed when she kicked for home 2 furlongs out. She eventually finished 3rd having been headed 110 yards from the line and then again in the final strides. She ran a blinder though and young jockey Harry Davies came in saying he wished he’d held onto her a bit longer and apologised saying he felt she should have won. What a mature young man – very impressed with him.

Hannah Ashton in this morning with her Indiba machine to check any horses we aren’t happy with and also the upcoming runners. It’s so important to ensure these elite athletes are in top shape especially when they can’t tell us when something is aching or sore. Imagine Premier League footballers not having access to a physio?! We use Hannah and also Maggie Turner are are so fortunate to have such top professionals looking after our horses.

On that note we are opening our gates again for National Racehorse Week in September. Our name will shortly join the list of yards opening their gates so click HERE to register – although it may not show today. There are plenty of spaces so don’t worry that you’ll miss out! It should be a fabulous morning.
