Leigh & Sarah Powell here this morning to see their horses on the gallops. Work morning and we worked Pinnacle Peak, Dreamsundermyfeet, Back on the Lash, Mikimoto, She Has Notions, Prairie Diamond, Found On, Spice Boy and Ben Buie. Release The Kraken and Shinji did a swinging canter from 3/4. All the rest just cantered with lots stepping up to do a 2nd canter.
Busy evening at Worcester where we have our annual Racing Club Picnic and also sponsor the first race which Miss Antipova represents the Racing Club under James Best. I keep saying it but…..after 5 x 2nds in a row …. could tonight be the night?! Alan & Anna Varey, who have leased Miss Antipova to the Club, are with us tonight too so we will have everything crossed!
Peter Boggis’s 14 year old superstar Mr Mafia runs in the Worthington’s Pre-Training Handicap Chase under Adam Wedge with usual pilot Sean Bowen claimed for his father’s horse. He’s the outsider of the field but I’m sure will run another solid race – he’s in great form at home and is a course and distance winner at Worcester so nothing is impossible.
Later in the card The Meagher Family’s Kazontherazz runs in the Ann Hitchings Memorial Handicap Hurdle under Sean Bowen. She’s come out of her seasonal debut well and, having needed the run more than we thought she would last time will strip fitter tonight and will hopefully go close.
Good luck to all the Team and let’s hope for an evening of sunshine for our Annual Picnic which is always great fun.
