A quieter morning with no extras in to ride out and the horses just doing one or two canters. Diana White and Family in to watch Codey Jones on the gallops this morning and he may run at Market Rasen on Sunday and seems in good form.
We are heading to Stratford Racecourse today with Ben Buie and also Miss Millfield for the Pony Race. Ben Buie turns out again quickly after a really good 3rd at Worcester on Tuesday evening. The race today didn’t look as competitive as it could have been and so I declared him in case something went wrong early on at Worcester as a back up. However, he’s a horse that does hold a little back for himself and despite running an absolute blinder on Tuesday night, he’s none the worse – has eaten up every meal since and had a day in the field yesterday so seems 100% to go again today. Worcester and now Stratford are local tracks so both under an hour away too so it’s not like he has to travel far.
Miss Millfield and Freddie finished a respectable 5th on Sunday at Uttoxeter when they made their pony racing debut as a combination and Freddie’s 1st Pony Racing Authority Racecourse Series race. Freddie loved it and, after watching the video yesterday of his ride on Sunday, has lots that he wants to put into practice today. As long as they enjoy themselves and he keeps learning then anything else is a bonus. His race is the second of the pony races and is due off at 5.35pm.
Revolut ran a much improved race to finish 5th beaten just 11 lengths but still needs to learn to settle more to give herself more of a chance.
