Martin’s Blog 28th February

Bitterly cold and thanks to my team for coping with the weather – it’s not particularly pleasant working in such bitter conditions. We had a lot of snow flurries yesterday but nothing settled thankfully. Carole, our Racing Administrator/Bookkeeper, was getting quite anxious about getting snowed in at one point but she got home safely!

Predictably not much racing on this week though we’d not had plans for runners anyway. We have entries from Friday onwards and I wonder what will be on. You have to feel for Simon Claisse, Ben Hastie and their team at Cheltenham with this cold snap so close to The Festival.

David Bishop here late morning for a catch up – no doubt to see his name in lights on our Cheltenham Winners’ Board as part owner of October winner Bobble Emerald!

Hannah Ashton in this morning to check our new horses over thoroughly and those nearing a run.

Freddie is celebrating his 10th birthday today – possibly a day early as he’s a leap year baby but tomorrow is March so we’ve gone with today! A trip to the cinema with some mates and supper at The Plough – perfect!
