Martin’s Blog 28th August

A busy few days without runners but busy here nonetheless. On Thursday Claudia Groves, who was part of the Shetland Pony Grand National Team with Freddie and still races with them, was here to ride out and is so dedicated that her, and her parents Rob & Sam, left Bournemouth at 5am and were here for 1st lot! Claudia rode Bluethorn Boy, Codey Jones and Pinnacle Peak and then they kindly took us to breakfast at The Cotswold Barn at the top of the road. A lovely morning.

On Friday evening we had a wonderful night with a celebration of the year of both Debden Bank and Ben Buie. What fun. Thanks to Mike & Mella Wright for the tasty sausages and Neil Clifton for the prosecco and for everyone who attended. I cooked and they all drank! I’m not sure we’ve ever laughed as much! A brilliant night and I’m not sharing photos!!!

Saturday morning and sponsor Neil Lloyd and Matthew Baker were in to watch the horses. Thanks to Matthew for the fabulous photos.
