Martin’s Blog 27th October

All horses doing a quiet canter today as many worked yesterday or have recently run. Taunton later on with Mahanakhon Power having his first run for us and owner David Parry. Purchased at the Doncaster Sales in September, he’s a sweet horse who won twice for his old trainer Michael Appleby and one of those being on good to firm ground so hopefully today’s quick ground will suit.

He’s done plenty of schooling at home and Sean Bowen, who rides today, schooled him last week and it would be great if he took to hurdling as we could have a lot of fun with him. There are two short priced horses in his race today so, on paper, it looks like we are racing for 3rd place at best but you never know what could happen and we hope he makes a solid hurdling debut.

A quiet day on the yard but we are hosting a ‘Join A Syndicate Morning’ on Saturday and would love to welcome you to the yard to see what is available here and for all price ranges. Although 1st lot here is at 7.30am we won’t be parading the syndicate horses until 9.30am and there will be plenty of fizz and refreshments available too. Just drop us an email (keighleyracing@btinternet.com) and let us know how may of you there will be. Our aim is to share details on how we manage our syndicates…i.e. how we communicate with owners, the badge allocation process, financial details and commitment period and, obviously, we’re happy to answer any questions.

Most of you will be aware that Freddie is off to The London International Horse Show as part of the Shetland Pony Grand National Team on his shetland pony Blackie in December. He’s busy fundraising for The Bob Champion Cancer Trust and you can sponsor him HERE. We are also organising a Bingo Night at The Coach & Horses in Longborough so do get in touch to book yourselves in there and there will be details soon of some very special auction prizes and how to claim them!

Eyes Down! Join us if you can.
