Wet and cold here this morning so although we turned everything out yesterday, they are all wrapped up warm in their stables today as it’s not much fun out there.
Mark Boothright called in 1st lot to watch Debden Bank do his final canter before he makes his racecourse debut tomorrow in a bumper at Ludlow. Mark has been staying locally for a few weeks and has delayed his journey back to Portugal so that he can go racing tomorrow.
We were very pleased with Chequered View on Sunday who, as I hoped, ran much better than the paper suggested she would at Uttoxeter under Sam Twiston-Davies to finish 3rd. She settled well and probably ought to have her hood removed for her next run as I think it has done it’s job and help switch her off. Very pleased with her.
Today we run Somewhere To Be at Lingfield under Aidan Coleman and the combination will be hoping to go one better than when they were last seen out at Uttoxeter in September and since then this race has been the target. He’s in good form and we are hoping for a big run.
Deb and Ross Butler were in mid morning to have a catch up and to see the 3 year old Morozov gelding that they have a share in. There are still a few shares available in him so do get in touch if you are interested in a 10th share in a good looking gelding.
