Martin’s Blog 27th July

A lovely evening yesterday enjoying our Martin Keighley Racing Club Annual Picnic at Worcester where we also sponsored the first race. Ben Buie represented our yard in that race and for quite a while it looked like the fairytale result may happen and he may win our sponsored race. Sam Twiston-Davies and Ben Buie tried to make all the running, jumping for fun and thoroughly enjoying himself but in the end they were just run out of it and finished a very creditable 3rd much to the delight of his owners.

Before the race our Racing Club Members enjoyed judging the Best Turned Out and afterwards enjoyed a glass of fizz with Ben Pauling and the connections of his winning horse which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

Back in the Centre of the Course our Picnic continued in full swing…the Course kindly cordoned off a big section for us all to park in and a fantastic time was had by all – a very enjoyable night with some really special people.

In the last race we ran Chenery and she wants softer ground too so she will have a nice break now, she’s not had a break for quite some time, and come back in the autumn.

Abi Stock and her son Hector watching Beth & Chenery in the Paddock.

James Best and Patrick Cowley in this morning and we schooled a few on the all weather including Cumberwell, Run A Rig, Herecomeshogan and Codey Jones.

Revolut runs tonight on the flat at Leicester under Shane Kelly. She shows us much more than she has done yet on the track and when she settles I’m hopeful there is far more to come.
