Work morning and Warren Marston and Harry Stock both in and we worked Talkischeap, Big Nasty, City Never Sleeps, She Has Notions, Mozzaro, Dreamsundermyfeet, Witness Protection, Fiddledi Dee and Ben Buie. All the rest cantered.
Leigh and Sarah Powell and David Parry were in to watch the horses working and Paul Davis too and the early rain cleared up thankfully.
Two runners at Chepstow this afternoon – will it be Samtara’s turn to actually get his head in front?! What a consistent horse he has been for his owner/breeders Roger & Yvonne Allsop – he’s been placed in 7 of his 11 hurdling starts and, of those, his 2nd places have been in a photograph twice. Last time he led all the way up the straight only to be denied in the shadows of the post. We’d obviously love nothing more than to see him get his head in front as he’s so genuine and deserves as win as do Roger & Yvonne and also Jamsin who looks after him and rides him every day. Patrick Cowley rides.
The Meagher Family’s Kazontherazz is our other runner in the following race under James Best. She unseated on her hurdling debut but then put that behind her when she won next time out and I think it was one run too many when she was 5th of 6 at Stratford in July. This is her handicap debut and she’s not overly big so it’s a big ask to give away weight all round. She’s in good form but may be susceptible to something carrying less weight.
