We’re back at Cheltenham today! We have three runners – Brillare Momento won on this day last year. She has lots of weight to carry today but is in good form and gets on well with Aidan Coleman.
World War makes his debut for me and his hurdling debut in the Maiden Hurdle under Leighton Aspell. He’s beautifully bred and could be anything if he takes to hurdling. A hot race and it will be very interesting.
Finally Lord Condi runs in the Conditional Jockeys Race, the final race on the day under Harry Stock, last year’s winnning jockey of the race when he partnered Bobble Emerald and became Harry’s first Cheltenham winner. Lord Condi has won his last two hurdle races but it’s a big step up for him and he needs to improve his jumping from his last run. You won’t miss him in his very spectacular red heart colours!
We were sad to lose Dr Dunraven at the Sales yesterday but wish Peter Bowen and his team well with him.
My son Harry has reminded me that it was his Teacher, Mrs Cox’s, birthday yesterday so to say a Happy Birthday to her for yesterday. Sadly her and Harry’s favourite horse Mr Mafia has been balloted out of Cheltenham tomorrow – Harry and Mrs Cox spend their English lessons learning football names and racecourses! Lucky boy.
