Martin’s Blog 26th March

Buckle Street ran a blinder yesterday to finish a good 5th at Newbury and in doing so thrilled over 20 of the Martin Keighley Racing Club who had excitedly made their way to Newbury to watch him. It was his swan song for the Club and the yard as he sadly returns to his owner Mary Hambro at the end of March but he’s done us all proud with yesterday’s run and his win at Southwell the highlights. Andrew Tinkler reported that he could have done with a quicker pace early on and that he was taken to the front turning for home and Buckle kept on all the way up the straight but was just done for toe over the last two hurdles.

Thanks to Tim Kent and Goffs for entertaining everyone after he had run and to Newbury for being so accommodating helping us organise such a large group of people – it was much appreciated by each and every one of us.

No runners today but it’s Mothering Sunday so a Happy Mothers’ Day to my mum and the boys and I are going to take Belinda out for supper later to wish her a Happy Mothers’ Day too.
