A quieter than usual Saturday morning with not many horses doing fast work. Warren Marston, Harry Atkins and Harry Stock in to ride work and we worked Cloud Formation, Miss Antipova, Reve, Ben Buie, Capricia and Cut And Run. All the rest cantered.
Tilly Jarrett was in to see Debden Bank and the Racing Club horses. It’s always great to see Tilly who is a great ambassador for our yard and never without a huge smile on her face.
Ernie has been off this week although she’s been in to ride her beloved Debden Bank most mornings and also here when the Vet visited as she looks after all of that side to the yard and she was keen to hear first hand what he thought. Dedication! Today she competed in this: and we are waiting to hear how she got on. We’re proud of her wherever she finished.
On the topic of incredible achievements – Neil Lloyd, Managing Director for our Sponsor FBC Manby Bowdler, has been competing in Coast 2 Coast. Today he nailed 73 miles on his bike in wet and windy conditions. We are very proud of Neil too and you can sponsor him here: … we think Neil then ran a Marathon?! We are super impressed! Surely that deserves us all to dig deep for such a deserving cause – Birmingham St. Mary’s Hospice.
No runners today so a chance to catch up with jobs and watch some sport too. The boys seem to never stop – either watching football or playing it in the garden! Freddie is putting the finishing touches to his shetland pony as he’s off to Royal Windsor on Thursday for the weekend – their first race in over 18 months.
Uttoxeter tomorrow with Back On The Lash in the Bet365 Summer Cup and Be Thankful over hurdles. More about them tomorrow.
