Martin’s Blog 25th November

A great weekend of sport however no runners for us until Monday. Belinda & I had a really fun evening last night at Tetbury’s Great Tythe Barn celebrating with Kitty King her Team Gold and Individual Silver in the summer’s European Eventing Championships. They certainly know how to party and we had a lovely stay in Tetbury too with all the horses just cantering this morning.

Although not a winner, we were all thrilled on Tuesday at Warwick under Harry Atkins who finished a close 2nd for The 360 Racing Club at huge odds of 150-1. If you would like to find out more about the Club click HERE. As the names suggests, Claire Hart & her team offer the full circle thoroughbred experience from foal to point to point and Myfanwy’s Magic with us under Rules.

Earlier in the week Kazontherazz ran a belter at Hereford under Adam Wedge to finish 3rd on her return since wind surgery. She’s a tough mare and hopefully that will have given her confidence to go close next time. Kalibrate, although pulling up, ran a much improved race and was still bang there before 3 out having jumped and travelled much better than he ever has done. We’ll drop him back in trip next time and will have to hope that he can still travel and jump as well despite the inevitable increase in pace that they’ll bring.

Lots of entries this coming week and two runners on Monday – Prairie Diamond and Release The Kraken head to Ludlow.
