A good run from Lady Vitesse at Southwell on Wednesday night to finish 3rd under Richard Johnson however he felt her wind was stopping her in the final stages and she made a noise. I was expecting her to win so it was good to find something that stopped a good run from being a brilliant run. I spoke to wind surgeon Ben Brain first thing yesterday morning and he examined her and she went in yesterday afternoon for a palate cauterisation. She was back home the same day and will have a few quiet days.
Rain yesterday and again this morning and whilst the fields now need it (it was amazing how quickly the fields dried up after the winter of relentless rain!) and the grass has sprung back into life again. Rain forecast all of next week too so I wonder how long we will have good ground for?!
No runners now until next week but still plenty of painting and steam cleaning continuing. Our hard working Yardman Lucjan Wirth is doing plenty of these yard improvements and he celebrated his birthday yesterday so happy birthday Lucjan!
