Getting busier with visitors which is great – a fantastic Racing Club visit on Saturday morning which everyone seemed to absolutely love and so did we. Fabulous to so much hear laughter at the top of the yard whilst they were enjoying Janne Bishop and Heather Wooster’s amazing food and fizz too!
Big Nasty ran another really solid race at Stratford on Saturday night under a super David Bass ride. He took a little while to warm to his jumping but then jumped for fun but just bumped into a very well handicapped horse carrying 20lbs less than him so finished 2nd. Another frustrating 2nd and our 9th of the season – great the horses are running so well but if only some of those 9 were winners…..
Today we head for Southwell with Kazontherazz in her final bumper. Only 5 runners but it looks red hot and with well bred newcomers you never know what to expect. She’ll go hurdling then so more education and she brings experience with her today and seems well at home.
Found On is our other runner, both with James Best on board, and she returns after a break. She’s a lovely big mare but her race is also very competitive although if she returns to the best of last season’s form she should be in the mix.
Neil Clifton in this morning to see Debden Bank and pleased he chose today instead of yesterday as we have had sunshine this morning whereas yesterday was pretty awful!
A belated Happy Birthday to Lucjan, our yardman, who we simply couldn’t be without. He celebrated his birthday yesterday and has been here for about 12 birthdays now!
Huge congratulations to Kitty King (daughter of Mr Mafia’s owners Peter & Jane Boggis) who has made the shortlist for the Olympics on her horse Vendredi Biats – part owned by Sally Lloyd-Baker who we have also trained a few winners for. Fingers crossed. No-one works harder than Kitty and a place would be much deserved by her and her whole family.
